Vox Hunt: Just Another Manic Monday

i loved quantum leap
Jay, I agree. I've watched this show from the beginning and think it has really grown quite a bit. I was wondering when Jack would be brought into the loop

Heroes and Journeyman are two of the very few shows I make a point not to miss (either live or DVR)
Last night's episode was good too, if a little contrived at the end. But so is any episode of Law & Order, and that's lasted what, 20 seasons?

I like Jack, he's a good character. In fact, they are all good characters, with care taken to not make any one of them one-dimensional. Characters that I didn't care much for at the start have grown on me, and that's not easy to do.

Of course, as with any time-travel premise there will be a necessary suspension of belief that's needed from the viewer, and you have to just accept the mechanics that they have put in place otherwise you'll just spoil the whole thing trying to pick it apart. Gladly, Journeyman isn't about flux capacitors or tachyon theory (I was getting nervous for a moment that they might be trying to go there too soon) but rather regular people, with regular problems, who have found themselves involved in something they don't understand.

Although I can't quite understand how Dan can afford a ten-million-dollar home in SF on a writer's salary. Explain that one, Doc.
I did like the moment when the scientist accidentally called Dan when he was on a trip. That kind of added a layer of intrigue, as did last night's reveal that the "FBI agent" was not an FBI agent and that there was no open FBI investigations on Dan or Jack.

As to your last questions. Friends did quite well ignoring it.

Maybe Dan had a big score gambling and wisely bought the house with it.

Also, didn't we get a look at the house in the past? Wasn't it abandoned before they moved in?
Good point....I think I may have missed that bit of info. So the question is....who's this guy investigating Dan, where is he getting all the info on him and does he just want the money or is he part of something larger? (I don't think I'm ready for some Anti-Time-Traveler-Secret-Agency thing to come into play.) And, is he dead now?

Was the house abandoned? I forget. Still, that would bring it down to, oh, two million dollars. Maybe one-point-five. It is San Francisco, after all. Bay view.
Well guy investigated Dan is sporting a bullet through the chest, so if he's a rogue he's out of the picture. It will be interesting to see if that plotline just disappears or not.

I live outside of Boston, which is only slightly less expensive than San Francisco, so I know exactly what you're talking about. I wonder if the sub-prime mess has helped bring things back to reality out there? Prices are certainly off a bit here, though people tend to be pretty stubborn about dropping their asking price.

Of course most shows are going to stop cold because of the writer's strike so it's best we not get too attached.
