Iron Man was good, as comic book movies go. Big-budget effects abound, but don't try to take over the movie. There's a little too much A-Team-esque hammering and soldering action going on in the first part of the movie, I think, and some archetypical supporting characters, but RDJ was great, Paltrow was suitably sweet and Jeff Bridges makes a superbly slimy corporate cad. I enjoyed it a lot.
Just from the previews, with RDJ saying the typical "funny, snide, sarcastic" comments...I thought I"ll probably enjoy this one, because even though those comments are in every freaking movie...he made me enjoy hearing him deliver them!
Some of them were funny and well-placed, others were there just to provide audience entertainment.
The most inconsistent parts were those where he should have been by all rights killed on the spot, or at least grievously injured, yet there he is in the next scene, ice bag on head and grumpy but otherwise unscathed. A real Wile E. Coyote character, that Tony Stark.

I don't ever want to see one of those stupid teen pregnancy-glorifying movies.
But, I can't wait to see Ironman!!!! Gadget pr0n, ho!!!
More than a lot of crap they've hyped up of late.

It's a good thing we can suspend our disbelief!
